Domestic Violence Prevention Groups for Men and Women

The Fraser Center offers groups focused on building anger management skills and preventing domestic violence for both men and women. These programs help participants develop awareness of their current ideas about and means of expressing anger that could be maladaptive and help them formulate healthier alternatives to aggressive expressions of emotion.

Topics include: managing emotions; coping with an angry partner; learning "clear communication;" and developing problem-solving strategies. The program is 14 sessions in length. Participants meet weekly for 90 minutes in an educational and interactive format. Enrollment in the group may be voluntary or court-mandated. Orientation sessions for prospective participants are required and are held monthly.
