The Vision of Caring
The Fraser Center is a non-profit, non-denominational, faith-based counseling center that offers behavioral health services and education for individuals, families, and community organizations.
The center was established in 1986 and was the dream of local physician, Dr. Whit Fraser, who was a pioneer in holistic health care for Liberty county. Dr. Fraser believed in affordable, whole-person care for all, regardless of social standing, race, gender, or ability to pay.
To that end, he established the Mary Lou Fraser Foundation for Families, Inc. in memory of his late wife, Mary Lou. The Fraser Center and the Liberty County YMCA are the present-day manifestations of Dr. Fraser's vision.
