Individual, Marital and Family Therapy

Throughout the course of every lifetime, we encounter numerous challenges - from relationship conflicts to phase-of-life problems to difficulty adjusting to catastrophic change or loss. Some challenges are met and faced adequately without additional assistance. There may be times, however, when those challenges can seem overwhelming or we simply feel "stuck" in our ability to surmount them alone.

familyThe counselors and therapists at the Fraser Center can offer the support and assistance needed to overcome the challenges of life successfully through the application of principles from mental health, psychology, or human development. We work from a solid base of counseling and therapy education and also specialize in a variety of different areas to help all clients resolve difficulties, realize full potential, and plan and make positive changes.

The staff at the Fraser Center provides individual, marital and family counseling to address some of the following areas:

  • Marriage and family problems
  • Coping with grief and loss
  • Dealing with difficult life transition (i.e. aging parents, divorce)
  • Military deployment issues
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Spiritual formation and growth
  • Children and parenting issues
  • Substance abuse and addictions
  • Co-dependency
  • Anger management
  • Career development or transition
  • Recovery from abuse (physical,verbal, sexual, emotional)
  • School/learning success

two girls with puzzle gameAll counselors and therapists at the Fraser Center have completed a minimum of a master's degree level of education in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy. They have had coursework on human behavior and development, effective counseling strategies, ethical practice and other core knowledge subjects. All are licensed by a state board and some have national certifications as well. Licensure or certification requires one to three years of supervised experience,passage of an examination and continuing education on an annual basis. All counselors and therapists adhere to a code of ethics that protects the privacy of the counseling relationship, prohibits discrimination, and requires respect for all cultural backgrounds.

In addition, the licensed professionals are required to place the needs and welfare of clients before all others in their practice.
